Kevin L. Cox, DVM
Dr. Cox is a lifelong citizen of Laurel, MS, and he has chosen to give back to his community by caring for our beloved pets. After graduating from R.H. Watkins High School, he attended JCJC in Pre-Veterinary Studies, and went on to Mississippi State University where he earned his degree in Veterinary Medicine. While at MSU, Dr. Cox was a member of Who's Who Among College Students, as well as Alpha Psi, an exclusive veterinary fraternity. Since earning his degree, Dr. Cox has happily served the Jones County area in veterinary medicine for over 10 years with the belief that "the human-animal bond and its role in our lives is key.” In the spring of 2009, he saw a need in the community for an animal hospital with a more personal approach and a fresh perspective and opened his own practice, Parkside Animal Hospital. Affiliations for Dr. Cox include: Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, Jones County Economic Development Association, as well as being a longtime member of First Baptist Church.
In his spare time, Dr. Cox enjoys outdoor activities, golf, movies, reading, and spending time with his children and family pets which include, four dogs, Stella, Lizzie, Alex, and Sally, and one cat, Marty.
